JATENG COLD CHAIN
The cold chain infrastructure in the Central Java remains underdeveloped, with only an estimated 34% of perishable agricultural products having access to efficient cold storage facilities. According to Indonesia's Ministry of Agriculture and the National Logistics Master Plan, the government has set clear goals to improve cold chain infrastructure by 2025 to support the growing demand for food exports and domestic distribution. The Indonesian government has allocated approximately IDR 10 trillion (USD 690 million) to upgrade cold storage and logistics infrastructure, especially in key agricultural regions such as Central Java.
Significant growth driven by rising demand for perishable products like fresh produce, dairy, and meat.
Includes various local and national entities providing cold storage solutions and logistics services.
The industry faces hurdles such as inadequate infrastructure and energy availability in remote areas.
Increasing demand for refrigerated products has led to a rise in services like repackaging and consolidation.
Poised for continued growth with numerous opportunities for innovation and collaboration to enhance supply chain efficiency and resilience.
